I am amazed to see God's hand in the miracle of adoption. Adoption is NOT a random thing. Heavenly Father is guiding the situation. I have witnessed several coincidences that I do not feel were coincidences at all. God works through people and events to accomplish His purposes. I am convinced that our Father in Heaven will guide all those involved in this process. God works in mysterious ways. I cannot wait to see how our adoption story unfolds. Then, I will KNOW that those coincidences were indeed miracles that led us to each other.
We are so excited to welcome the newest member to our family today. Our beautiful little NIECE (not daughter) I capitalized that so those of you who don't really read my blog carefully don't freak out in excitement as you glance at this post and mistakenly think that she is joining our family. That would be SUPER exciting too. Cali Blakeslee was born today June, 22nd 7 lbs and 15 oz. Congratulations Britain, Ben, and Bristol!!!
I must apologize in advance for the lack of and poor quality of the photos of Tyler's 36th birthday. I can't find my camera :( So, until I do it will be low quality pics and no pictures of Carson's preschool graduation or Memorial Day Camping Trip and Goblin Valley.
I threw a mountain biking party and BBQ for Tyler. We rode Horse Thief and then came to our house for a BBQ. It was a blast. Not everyone who rode is in the picture above because Stegelmeier's, Quarnberg's, and Frigettto's showed up a few minutes after the picture. Too blurry to label but Vance's, Cook's, Spencer Johnson, Kohl's, and Heaps joined us on the ride. Happy Birthday Tyler! I'm so happy I married you.
Sometimes I am amazed by the girls in Colorado. People are in such amazing physical shape it is amazing. One of our friends in the ward, Marge Gunderson, wanted to celebrate her 70th birthday (yes, that's right) 70 years by riding 70 miles with her girlfriends. It was an awesome ride, but I only rode 35 miles (but give me a little credit we were both riding one mile for each year of our birth). She is inspiring to all of us. You should see her ski and mountain bike as well. I have 35 more years to be in that great of shape, right? All of the 30 something riders (except Heidi) did a shuttle and only did half the ride. Thanks for the fun memories and fun ride.
Jeena and Gina--We were roommates and carpooled together so we had a lot of great conversations and laughs. She also introduced me to Jamba Juice--yum!
After shopping at Nordstrom Rack we hit the Cheesecake Factory which is always delicious.
Jill and Angie were the only two brave enough to model and dance in Angie's old drillteam costumes. YIKES! We have some great video of them dancing, but since I am a nice friend I will not post it until I need good blackmail footage.
We were anxiously awaiting to hear Stephanie Nielson and her sisters speak. Inspiring!
Angie and Gina
We ran into Erin Meeker--one of my dear friends from Philly so we were able to spend the 2nd day of the conference together. It was a fun surprise and so great to see her.
Jeena, Janice, Lara, Carla, Jill, Gina, Tarra, and Angie after Elder Bednar's remarks.
We ended the weekend with snow--despite the fact that it was the end of April--and a session at the temple.
We stayed at Little America for Easter Weekend. My niece, Saige, came to stay with us one night. Thanks for the great weekend treat G&G Jolley. We enjoyed swimming, shopping, mint truffles, a massage at the Grand America, room service, and Easter decor (pictured above) at the hotel. It was fabulous.
We made bird nests out of rice crispy treats--of course.
Tanner after the Easter Egg hunt at the Adamson's
Kaden with his supply. The golden eggs had money so they were excited. Kaden gave up all his eggs because he and some of his friends gave up candy and pop for a whole year to earn money. I am amazed at his discipline.
Carson's basket was overflowing.
Tanner with the Easter Bunny at Little America. Carson was too scared to go see him.

We had an amazing brunch with the Jolley's and my parents in Bountiful on Easter morning.
We are THRILLED to announce that Tyler has just signed a contract to get his first novel published. (I know he doesn't look excited in this picture, but it was a picture I had of him reviewing his book so I thought it fit the theme of this post. He used to like to read on his ipad, but is now a fan of the Kindle for E-books). Tyler got me a kindle for Valentine's Day and I LOVE it. No bookmarks, no pages to turn, no crumpled pages, fits in my purse, and has a light for reading in the dark and you can read in total sunlight. You must get one.
Anyway, back to the subject. Thanks to all of you who have read, supported, edited, and given feedback to his young adult science fiction novel over the years. Neto Lexan and the Impox Secret has been in the making since our days in dental school. He started writing to escape from the stress of dental school and has been writing ever since. I think he secretly dreams of retiring early in life and writing books. We wish him the best on this journey. We will keep you posted on the release date.
Tanner with all his new gifts which included Legos, a new trick bike, a clone wars blanket, and more.
Tanner wanted an cookie dough ice cream cake from Cold Stone. And yes, he is wearing a wife beater tank top. He has become a huge fan ever since Wolverine started wearing them.
Tyler and Tanner before the baptism. Oh, my handsome boys.

Tanner and Tate (Storheim) had a double party at the new Fruita Community Center complete with pizza, swimming, and a donut cake. What more could these boys ask for? Happy Birthday, Tanner! I love you.
